- There is evidence that only seven of 24 best practices are widespread with the remainder not widely implemented. Enforcement of course quality standards is the most pervasive best practice.
- Financial support for IsL initiatives, 24 x 7 support for faculty and students, perceptions of quality, and faculty enthusiasm are the greatest challenges. This provides evidence that although IsL initiatives are developing full programs they are not generally redesigning programs for improvement in an online setting.
- IsL initiative leaders are mostly satisfied with the products and services they are receiving with the quizzing and assessment category receiving the highest rating and Respondus receiving the highest rating of all products and services. Student information systems were the only category receiving an overall unfavorable rating.
